Body Fat %: Whole-Body Densitometry

Purpose: Whole body densitometry to determine body composition

Equipment: Body Pod device

Procedure: The Whole-Body Densitometry is the most accurate method of calculating body composition and body fat. Prior to testing:

  • Don’t eat or drink for at least 3 hours (no food and no liquids).
  • Don’t exercise for at least 3 hours.
  • Wear form fitting clothing (spandex or lycra).
  • Don’t apply any lotions or skin creams
  • Don’t wear any jewelry.
  • Note how much body hair the subject has.
