500m Row

Purpose: The 500m row ergo test is meant to measure total body anaerobic cardiovascular capacity.

Equipment: Rowing Ergometer and stopwatch.


  • Be sure to set an appropriate drag. 
  • Both feet should be securely fastened.
  • He or she will begin the movement using their legs and core while finishing with their upper body. 
  • Instruct the client to cover 500 meters in the shortest time possible while keeping strict form. 
  • The final time is recorded.
